the face behind the mask.
name: Monty
age: 20
role-playing experience:
For the past few years I've been finding myself joining the best of the best sites. All of the sites my attention has been drawn to are by far the best (as noted before) and at the moment I am apart of at least four or five role-playing sites. My style stretches from fantasy to history and everything else in between (including pirates). I'm not quite sure what you seem to be asking in this question, but I hope I have answered it.
role-playing sample:
[This sample is taken from an rp of mine with a friend]
Logan laughed, "Go ahead. Give me a good whack on the head." He insisted bending over a bit so Danni had a clear shot at his head. "C'mon, just like my old man. Just loosened your hand, cup it in the tiniest bit and smack me!" Logan shouted the last part a little too loudly but more in an excited voice than angry. He wasn't quite sure why he yelled. It probably had something to do with the fact that whenever Logan was around Danni he felt much more energetic then he did just seconds ago when he wasn't in her presence. Perhaps it had something to do with the whole 'electricity flowing through people' thing and how it transfers to other people. Confound it all, he loved it though. Putting on his best sympathy face, he said in a soft voice, "Oh.. poor Danni. She got yelled at by the big, bad old man." Smiling he chuckled, "I had a feeling that was you. I heard something outside and had an inkling that it was you stumbling down the hallway getting your apartment mixed up with someone else’s... again. I swear though, I was about an inch away from coming to help you but once he started yelling, I figured it be best to leave you there." With a cheeky grin, Logan shrugged, "Well look on the bright side atleast it wasn't my apartment you tried to get into. Then you'd be in some trouble." The idea of a rocking chair, a screen door and some Astroturf sounded like a good one to him, Logan simply nodded still smiling.

With a small shrug, Logan let out a sigh, "Well 'in general' I doubt my 'condition' will be getting better anytime soon. But I promise.. once I get my wheelchair, I'll be over everyday." He said the last bit with a chuckle. It was true. At his last doctor's appointment, his doctor, Doctor Guevera, told him that is his condition worsened the only choice would be to opperate which causes severe blood loss which most likely would end his life up in a wheelchair. Not was he was expecting. Not what he wanted, but he had to deal with it. Breaking out into a smile, Logan chuckled, "Well.. my Ice Queen, I am the Ice King. It's who I've been. People talk? About what? What do you think people could possibly start saying about us that we haven't heard already?" Logan had to admit it must've looked pretty suspicious to their nieghbors, Danni coming over his apartment every day on the week that ended with the word "day". People always were suspicious. As much as Logan secretly wished that something could happen between the two, it never did and he was kind of glad.

She was starring at him. He wasn't really paying attention but he could kind of fell it in a strange way. He always could. Logan considered it a talent. He could be in a crowd of people and he knew that someone was looking at him and if he tried hard enough, he could probably find out where that person was. Logan didn't say anything, he was lost in
thought and Danni seemed to be also. With a small smile, he glanced over at her. He thought it must be a little weird for her to have to take care of a grown man, or to be considered his closest friend besides his brother. If it did bother her, she didn't seem to mind, or just didn't show it. She was beautiful there was no doubt to that, but then again so was every girl Logan had come across these days, there was something different about here though. Maybe it was the fact that she didn't have a problem with taking care of a full grown man.

"Homil? Clever" Logan commented with a chuckle. Crossing his arms, he listened to her contently with a smile on his face. Interrupting her at one point, he shook his head and said, "Well... if you do die.. and I don't. I will be very, very sad." With a small apology smile, he urged her to continued as she did and continued to listen. Tilting his head to the side slightly and cocking his eyebrow, Logan lifted and hand and rubbed his chin in thought. If his stove exploded? Wow... he had never thought of that one. She really did have a strange outlook on his and her life. How they would die, what would happen. Who would find them.Logan shook his head and chuckled, "Well to be quiet honest, when I think about dying, I definitely don't want to go in flames. I've given this thought and I'd probably want die the following ways, die during an operation, die in my sleep, get shot, poisoning. Simple things. And I'd hope someone would notice it my fire was engulfed in flames."

"I would hate to be cookie-less!" Logan exclaimed shaking his head with a fake shocked expression on his face that read 'how could you even think of something like being cookie-less?'. "I'm a fine person? Oh thank you Danni, that is he nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.... Except for that time that girl called me sexy.. and said she wanted to marry me... but I don't talk about that." He shuffled his mind for something to say to get them off that subject. "However... I only have my brother that I consider the closest friend I have. You should meet him sometime. I have an idea, I'll have you two over for supper. One of my culinary arts spure of the moments that I have." Logan smiled cheekily.

Slowly closing his eyes as Danni jumped up from the couch and yelled at him, Logan wonder why even though he knew this would happen he was surprised. Shaking his head he muttered "You had it right the first time". Slowly standing up from the couch, disguising his grunt in a cough, Logan stood himself up in front of Danni.Taking hold of her hands that she was gesturing wildly at him, he shook his head. "Danni.... calm down." He spoke quietly and softly. "It's fine. I'm fine. We don't need to talk about this right now. However, if you want a report... you can ask my doctor when I go see him tomorrow to schedule my operation." It hit him that telling her he was having an operation probably wasn't the best side-dish to the fact that one of the ways he wanted to die was during an operation, which he had told her. With a small smile, he told her, "I know that there's probably no way of stopping you from coming but.... you have just been officially invited to my operation by Logan Cale. Look on the brightside of it, you'll be able to meet the man who's doing his best to take care of me."

it's all a charade.
the basics
full name: William Turner II (Jr.)
date of birth: January 13
place of birth: Glasgow, Scotland
loyalties: port royal citizen // pirate

the portrait
eye color: dark brown
hair color: dark brown
body frame and stature: A slim and slender body frame that of course consists of his muscle (which he feels he seems to be lacking in). His height is around 6'0" or 6'1".
health: Healthy, active and athletic
general description:
A strong facial structure lined with a scruffy, dark brown colored beard and his upper lip lined with a thin mustache. Thick dark brown hair reaches to a little bit above his shoulders. His face has the dark hint of dirt, which always seem to be with him (either pirate or blacksmith) It's true what they say when they commented how William resembles his father. There was no doubt that he was in fact his son. However from his mother's side, William inherited the big, dark brown eyes that he remembered his mother having. These dark brown eyes his possess come in handy when he chooses to stare down an enemy or even Jack or Elizabeth. They also hold a minute amount of innocence hidden within them. The ability to turn them from hard and stern to soft and loving. William cannot remember a time when he ever had his hair short. It had been long ever since he could remember. He kept it long not just because everyone did but because his father did. It made him look more like his father which was exactly what he wanted as a boy.

His height of around 6'0" to 6'1" gives this scruffy young man something his father didn't which was of course height. Will's not one to slouch, even for a blacksmith posture is important, well to him it is. Of course being a former blacksmith, Will has had experience in making weapons, which does a great deal to the hands. His being hard and callused and always seeming to look dirty no matter how hard he tried to wash them clean (much like his face). He feels he's lacking in muscle compared to other men he has seen but William does have some muscle, not very much but it's there. However it is hard to tell if someone has any muscle on their arms if they are rarely being shown. Will's wardrobe most of the time consist of a long sleeve, dirty looking, off-white linen shirt and a faded brown vest. Covering his long legs he chooses to wear old brownish-black pants and high black boots on his feet.

William does not consider himself a pretty boy, he barely considers himself handsome. People may disagree and some people may agree but to himself, William will always be the blacksmith with the scruffy, long hair and the goatee. The dirt that seemed to be ingrained into the skin on his hands and face give him that always dirty look. Of course, it was never like that. As a boy, William never wanted to be a blacksmith. Of course he wanted to fight with swords but he never thought he'd be making them. Making these
swords gave him the dirty look and the rough hands he has grown acustomed to.

However his life doesn't quite go that way so he makes perfect room for other goals. general description of personality:
The typical hero. Something most people that know Will might consider him. It's something he can't even explain himself, the certain urge to
do the right thing at the right time. To save the ones he loves, to save the ones in danger and the ones from being in danger. Will believes that it came from his father who was against the mutiny of a certain pirate by the name of Jack Sparrow. As much as some men (pirates) might consider saving a damsel in distress and people in general a waste of time, Will finds it exhilarating and gives him the sense of accomplishment. Something, well a big something, that sets the difference line between him and pirates. And of course, that so being, pirates are not the type of people who appeal to William. Not just the fact of their un-gentlemen ness but for personal reasons.

A gentlemen. Yes that's the perfect word. A polite, well-being, good man, gentlemen. Well, is there any other kind? Being a former/still blacksmith, people considered Will the normal grunting, rude, didn't-care-about-anyone-else blacksmith. Of course they were wrong. Being a gentlemen does come with a price though, Will's curse of seeming to act before he thinks and getting himself into some tight situations (even without Jack's help). For example, his strong determination to do good and to save his love, Elizabeth Swann when she was captured by Captain Barbossa put Will in a life or death (mostly death) situation. Although his risks cost him dearly, he never seems to give up but he also never seems to learn to think before he acts.

Inside that tough, gentlemen-like exterior burns a secret desire to be one of them. To be a pirate. His father was one and his "blood coursed in his veins" so maybe it was the fact of him being heir to his father that William had his desire to be a pirate. He hated every pirate, until he found out his father was one. Jack had told him a few times that Will was getting more like a pirate than he thought. Helping a man out of prison, commandeered a ship of the Fleet, sailed with a buccaneer crew out of Tortuga and the fact that he was completely obsessed with treasure. Which made Will realize that all treasure wasn't just gold and priceless jewels.

parents:William "Bootstrap Bill" Turner [Father]
Unknown [Mother]
siblings: N/A
outlook on family:
Will never knew his father. William was raised by his mother and grew up believing that his father was a merchant sailor. After his mother died, Will set sail for the Caribbean to try to find his father. A few years ago, Will was reunited with his father aboard the Flying Dutchman.
general history:
Growing up, William Turner Jr. was typical boy, so to speak. He enjoyed fighting and getting into anything that would get him dirty and receive himself a scolding from his mother. However, growing up without his father around was the hardest part of his life. He was told by his mother that his father was a "merchant sailor" apparently that was the name for pirates back then. Of course it was not. William's father was a pirate and a rather good one. A pirate, but a good man.
His name was William "Bootstrap Bill" Turner. Will was named after his father and was proud of it. Due to the fact that his father was always away, William was raised by his mother in England until death snatched Mrs. Turner away while Will was still a child. The causes of death were never clear to Will and they never will be. He never asked about his mother's death and he never got an answer. At the age of twelve, young Will set sail for the Caribbean, in search for his father. The ship Will occupied was attacked and burned by the Black Pearl, a ship in Captain Hector Barbossa's command at the time. A floating scrap from the ship carried Will from the burning wreckage to the HMS Dauntless, and aboard that ship was when young William first met his soon to be almost-kind of -fiancé/wife, Miss Elizabeth Swann, the daughter of Governor Weatherby Swann.

Days later, William was taken to Port Royal and was apprenticed by a local blacksmith by the name of John Brown. Mr. Brown seemed happy to have someone due his work for him as he stayed out late some nights, and drunk himself to sleep on the other nights. Will became a master at his jobs of crafting weaponry and trade. The very sword that was giving to James Norrington when he became Commodore was a perfect example of Will's master of forgery. With the number of swords he had forged growing, Will found himself practicing with them every day for hours on end. The reason for being was his newly developed hatred towards pirates and he suspected that at his first encounter with a pirate would be that man's last time he would see Will Turner. He practiced to kill any pirate he came face to face with.

William's lucky day came the day Jack Sparrow set foot into Port Royal in search to "commandeer" a ship. When Jack escaped the clutches of the British Royal Navy, he headed right into the blacksmith shop. When Will returned to his shop to find his drunken master asleep and the slightest little thing out of place. After a few witty banter lines tossed and a skillful swordfight, Jack was finally caught amazingly not by Will, but by Will's drunken master with the help of a glass bottle. That night the crew of the Black Pearl invaded Port Royal and captured Elizabeth Swann. William had no choice but to join Jack Sparrow, play the hero and rescue Miss Swann. One the open sea with Jack was when William first found out about his father. A pirate. A pirate, but a good man. With Jack, he learned about the curse of the Black Pearl, he learned about how it could end and what role he played in that part. A big role really. Him being the son of Bootstrap Bill and all. Will helped break the curse just in time for Jack to kill Captain Barbossa. Back at Port Royal, Jack was sentenced to be hung. At the hanging, Will did what he does best and sprang to the rescue to rescue his newly acquainted friend. In the middle of Jack's rescue, Will managed to confess his love for Elizabeth right there in front of James Norrington and her father. He was set to be married, but of course. Not quiet.

Due to their aiding the escape of a certain Captain Jack Sparrow, William Turner and his fiancé were arrested just before their wedding ceremony by Lord Cutler Beckett. Beckett offered the two freedom from being killed if Will was able to bring him Jack Sparrow's seem to be broken compass. Will set upon the Black Pearl on Pelegosto Island, where Jack was being held captive by the Pelegostos. After escaping from a terrible, round, bone caged fate himself, Will was able to negotiate with Jack of giving him the compass if Will helped him find the key to the chest where Day Jones's heart lied. Literally.
However, their mission was unsuccessful when James Norrington managed to scurry off with Davy Jones's heart and give it to his ever so powerful Lord Cutler Beckett.

Upon the Black Pearl, the ship managed to outrun the Flying Dutchman. All was safe before they unleashed the kraken and everything went down hill from there. Managing to weaken the kraken, what was left of the crew escaped on the longboat. However, before their escape, Will endured a powerful, heart-wrenching sight. Elizabeth kissing Jack Sparrow. Of course being from the long boat, he didn't know these kiss was just a distraction. Will was upset but didn't say anything. As Jack was swallowed up by the Kraken the surviving crew went to Tia Dalma's shack where they all promised they would go to world’s end to find Jack.

The relationship with Elizabeth seemed to grow farther and farther apart as the two stopped talking to each other. Elizabeth had told him once they'd find Jack, they'd talk which made Will's driven ambition to find Jack even more driven. He has now recently realized the size of the hole he had dug himself since the beginning of his journey. It wasn't just the hole he had dug himself but the hole he had dug his relationship with Elizabeth. They both seemed too deep and if he kept digging and following what he thought was best he'd never get his way out of it. He would end up loosing his life and the women he loved.
